For this painting I had a lot of fun experimenting with some different colours, and trying for a rather different mood to my normal paintings of Arran. This had been a rather dull grey day, and then as nighttime drew near, the muted colours started to grow more and more intense until they positively glowed. It proves that, with just a little patience, real jewels can be found on the most unlikely of days. The colours worked well to portray that feeling of dusk when the whole island appears to be settling down for the night. This must have been what it was like before the advent of electricity, when everything was lit by candles and gas lamps!
Available framed or unframed. Framed size approx. 60cm x 60cm
