Loch Awe is the third largest freshwater loch in Scotland and is  about 40 miles long. As usual, I had spent too much time  stopping along the way, and the day was drawing to an end when I approached this bend in the road.  It's a spot I have driven past before and hasn't overly inspired me before, but this time, the sun was low and the angle was just right to change the usual blue grey of the deep loch water into a gleaming golden ribbon of light. Fortunately there is very little traffic here, so I was able to park on the road, and wander about for a while with my camera. It had to be done, as my chance of catching this perfect moment ever again was slim indeed!
